27 of 100 – What Would Future Me Say

As I get older, I’ve become wiser. I work to become a better version of myself. There may be bumps in the road where even I’m surprised at something stupid I did. My hope is those are the exception.

I recently heard of two men I know decide to trade in wife number one for a “new model.” The first one was caught by his two daughters. They saw evidence of an affair on his phone. They packed up his stuff and had it waiting outside for him when he got home. So he had to face his two adult daughters with this. The second one decided to go back to his druggie days and is growing pot (I think legally) in Colorado with someone new.

I had a mentor of mine land in jail for some financial “improprieties” in his business.

I’m not here to judge. I don’t have all the information and I don’t really want to know. What I would like to know is what would the future version of these people think.

There are things I’ve done in the past that I think about now and cringe. “How could I have been so stupid?” is the only thing I can say. I’m not so different from people like this except in the size and implications of their mess ups.

I pray today that I continue to mature in character, use integrity in all I do and handle my relationship everyone around me with great respect. I know I don’t always succeed, but I hope that in the long run I can look back and feel proud of the legacy I’ve left behind me.
